Where to Pick Up Across Montenegro

Pickup and drop-off points across the Bay of Kotor and the rest of Montenegro, from Tivat and Podgorica airports to Budva and the capital, plus how free delivery and one-way drops work.

How pickup and delivery work

Kotor is a compact town wrapped around the head of the bay, and its Old Town is car-free, so every rental pickup happens either just outside the walls or delivered straight to your hotel. Most visitors either fly into Tivat (eight kilometres away) or arrive by cruise, and we cover both handovers plus every point in between.

This page maps the pickup and drop-off options group by group: Kotor town itself, the surrounding Bay of Kotor towns, Tivat Airport, and the wider Montenegro network from Budva to Podgorica. Free delivery is included on most cars, so you can usually skip the pickup point entirely and have the car brought to your accommodation.

In Kotor town

Kotor pickups happen at four convenient points, all within a five-minute walk of the Old Town walls: the cruise port area (best for ship days), the bus terminal (fastest for anyone arriving by coach), the Kamelija shopping centre car park on the south side, and free delivery to any Dobrota hotel or apartment on most cars.

A representative meets you at the agreed spot with the keys, walks around the car with you for a two-minute condition check, and hands you the paperwork. Most collections take under ten minutes from start to keys-in-hand, and you are on the bay road within the hour.

Around the Bay of Kotor

Free in-town delivery covers most of the bay, so if you are based in Dobrota, Prčanj, Muo, Perast or one of the smaller shoreline villages, we bring the car to your address at no extra charge on most bookings. You set the location and the time during checkout, and a representative meets you there.

For fly-and-collect trips, most visitors pick the car up at Tivat Airport and drop it at their bay accommodation on departure day, so you never have to backtrack to the airport. Reverse handovers work the same way, we collect the car at your hotel on the departure morning.

Tivat Airport (TIV)

Tivat is the closest airport to Kotor, about eight kilometres and twenty minutes along the flat coastal road. A representative meets you inside the arrivals hall within minutes of you clearing customs, no shuttle bus, no counter queue, no waiting for a coach transfer.

If your onward departure is from a different airport, one-way drops between Tivat, Podgorica and Dubrovnik are straightforward to arrange. Pick your inbound and outbound points during booking and the fee (usually small or none) is calculated up front.

Across the rest of Montenegro

Kotor and the bay are the base, but the same self-drive network reaches the whole country. Budva and the riviera are thirty minutes south, Podgorica and its airport sit about an hour and a quarter inland on the E80, and Nikšić, Bar and Ulcinj are all comfortable drives for the first day. Pick any of them as your collection point and a representative meets you there with the keys and paperwork.

One-way rentals are the other half of the picture. Fly into Tivat and drop the car at Podgorica Airport on the way home, collect in Kotor and leave it in Budva, or arrange a cross-border handover toward Dubrovnik Airport. You set the start and end points during booking, and any one-way fee, usually small or none, is shown before you confirm.

Free delivery on most cars

Free delivery to any address in Kotor town or the bay is available on the majority of bookings. You add the address, the delivery time, and any instructions ("call when you land", "we are in room 12") during checkout, and the representative brings the car and paperwork straight to you.

On departure day, the car is collected from the same address or from whichever onward point you chose during booking. If a specific car does not offer free delivery, the booking screen will say so clearly with an alternative fee.
